Prosecutors1 nationwide will clamp down on corrupt2 officials this year and step up the hunt for those who have fled abroad, according to the TOP procurator.

最高人民檢察院檢察長(zhǎng)表示，今年全國(guó)上下的檢察院都將嚴(yán)厲打擊貪官，加大追逃工作。

追逃的英文表達(dá)就是hunt for those who have fled abroad。不只要追逃，還要recover ill-gotten gains（追贓），并進(jìn)一步加大preventing suspects from fleeing the country（防逃）工作。

檢察長(zhǎng)稱(chēng)，那些或許會(huì)逃往海外的duty-related crimes suspect（職務(wù)犯罪嫌疑人）將會(huì)更早地被禁止離境。Duty-related crimes（職務(wù)犯罪）一般表現(xiàn)為offering and taking bribes3 （收納賄賂）和dereliction of duty（玩忽職守）。

依據(jù)公安部的數(shù)據(jù)，目前中國(guó)在境外有500多名economic fugitives（經(jīng)濟(jì)逃犯），因?yàn)橹袊?guó)和很多國(guó)家都沒(méi)簽署extradition treaties（引渡協(xié)議），因此抓捕外逃貪官困難程度非常大，目前抓捕貪官的重點(diǎn)就是阻止貪官離境。這類(lèi)貪官在離境前都會(huì)通過(guò)underground banks（地下錢(qián)莊）或非法投資等money laundering（洗錢(qián)）活動(dòng)來(lái)transfer property（轉(zhuǎn)移資產(chǎn)）。
